Do you operate a waiting list for kittens?

We do not have a waiting list for kittens. We are all volunteers who work full time and our main priority is to home the cats and kittens in our care that are looking right now. When the kittens you see on Facebook are ready to find their furrever homes they will be advertised on our available cats page.

Do you home with families and young children?

Accepted Answer

Rescue cats have all been through some kind of trauma, of varying degrees and can act unpredictably. Any cat will also not act themselves in a rescue environment so it can be difficult for us to place a cat with young children. However we do have cats surrendered to us from a busy family environment and we will write on a cats bio if they are child friendly.

Question 3

How much is the donation to adopt a cat?

Our adoption donation amount is £250 and that includes flea and worm treatment, vaccinations, neutering, chip and 5 weeks free insurance. Every furry in our care has also had a full health check by our amazing vets.

Question 4

Can we visit the shelter to see the cats?

Accepted Answer

Since the first lock down we have not been able to have visitors to the shelter. To ensure we can still help cats in need we allow potential adopters who have completed the application and virtual home check to visit and this process will not be changing for the foreseeable future. We also have many cats in foster care and we are not an adoption shelter so if you wanted to let the cat pick you then you would need to go to all foster homes to view the cats rather than just the shelter.

Question 5

Are the cats neutered?

Every cat in our care is neutered before they are re-homed. If a kitten is adopted that is not old enough to be neutered the adopter is to take to our vets in Salisbury at the appropriate time and all costs are covered by Cat Watch.

Question 6

Do you accept donations?

Accepted Answer

YES - either cash through our bank, food (we have a donation box in Tesco Amesbury) or items that we can sell on at Car Boots etc. We are a very small charity and have limited storage space and as much as we don't want to turn anything away, we are unable to accept everything. Items that sell amazingly well are soft toys and nerf guns!

Do you rehome indoor cats?

Due to being a rescue we mainly help cats from the streets and it would be unfair to them to be kept indoors at this stage in their life. We do hold an indoor cat waiting list for furries that are surrendered to us, please drop us an email if you would like to be added. We do make clear on the cats bio if they are indoor only.

Question 8

Can you help me rehome my cat?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we can help with either a home to home adoption, this is where we would collect the cat from you and take them to the vets to get all healthchecks done as well as any outstanding routine treatments or if we have the room and it cannot wait we will bring them into the shelter first to get all vets visits done and then find a loving home for them.

Are you affiliated to Cat Protection?

Accepted Answer

No we are a small charity set up in memory of Monkey, one of my own cats that I lost.  We are a totally independant rescue.
